The Role

We are looking for a .NET Developer to help convert our WinForms desktop application into a web application built with C#, ASP.NET MVC and Bootstrap. You’ll bring existing screens and features to the web, matching the behaviour customers rely on while building responsive pages and maintaining a clean MVC architecture.

For each screen, you’ll be expected to understand the current functionality, produce a design, get feedback from the web team, then develop, test and deliver it. AI tools such as Claude Code will be provided; however, you’ll need to have the requisite understanding of the technologies involved.

Responsibilities:

• Web migration: Convert WinForms screens and features to the web, matching existing behaviour.

• Web development: Build responsive pages using ASP.NET MVC, Razor, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

• Application architecture: Keep controllers thin and place logic in the right layer, including view models, services and data access.

• Database development: Write and optimise SQL Server queries and stored procedur

You should apply if you have:

• Strong C# and .NET development experience.

• ASP.NET MVC experience, including controllers, Razor views, view models, routing and validation.

• A sound understanding of MVC separation of concerns and what belongs in controllers, view models, services and data access.

• Experience with Bootstrap, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

• SQL Server and T-SQL experience.

• Experience using Azure DevOps.

• A keen eye for detail, clear communication, collaborative working and ownership of your work.
  

It's a bonus if you have: 

• Experience migrating WinForms or other desktop applications to the web.

• Experience with ASP.NET Core.

• Knowledge of rental, hire or ERP software and business processes.
