The Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant in Germany to advise our international management team on compliance with German employment law (Arbeitsrecht) and HR regulations.
This freelance role is ideal for a professional who has supported international companies in navigating German labor law and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
You will play a key role in keeping our organisation compliant, advising on contracts, HR policies, and regulatory updates, while providing clear, practical advice in English.
Responsibilities:
Draft and review German employment contracts (permanent, fixed-term, part-time).
Advise on compliance with Arbeitsrecht, including working hours, leave, probation, and termination.
Provide guidance on works councils (Betriebsrat) and collective agreements.
Ensure compliance with social security, payroll obligations, and statutory benefits.
Advise on employee policies, handbooks, and GDPR in HR matters.
Provide proactive updates on legal and regulatory changes.
Support international management with clear guidance in English.

You should apply if you have:
Proven expertise in German employment law (Arbeitsrecht).
Experience advising international or foreign employers in Germany.
Strong knowledge of German HR compliance (contracts, works councils, payroll, GDPR).

Fluent German and English (spoken and written).
